First Principles Thinking
Our Approach to Sustainable Construction Technology :
First principles thinking is one of the most effective strategies you can employ for breaking down complicated problems and generating original solutions. It also might be the single best approach to learn how to think for yourself.
The first principles approach has been used by many great thinkers and inventors, but no one embodies the philosophy of first principles thinking more effectively than entrepreneur Elon Musk.
In 2002, Musk began his quest to send the first rocket to Mars—an idea that would eventually become the aerospace company SpaceX.
After visiting a number of aerospace manufacturers around the world, Musk discovered the cost of purchasing a rocket was astronomical—up to $65 million. Given the high price, he began to rethink the problem.
Physics teaches you to reason from first principles rather than by analogy.
What is a rocket made of? Aerospace-grade aluminum alloys, plus some titanium, copper, and carbon fiber. Then Musk asked himself , what is the value of those materials on the commodity market? It turned out that the materials cost of a rocket was around 2% of the typical price.”
Instead of buying a finished rocket for tens of millions, Musk decided to create his own company, purchase the raw materials for cheap, and build the rockets himself. He created a more effective and cheaper solution and SpaceX was born.
First principles thinking is the act of reduing a process down to the fundamental parts that you know are true and building up from there.
The Power of Thinking for Yourself
The human tendency for imitation is a common roadblock to first principles thinking. When most people envision the future, they project the current form forward rather than projecting the function forward and search for new solutions

Last but not the least, we have a 100% motivated team of experienced construction workers and construction managers to answer the shortage of sustainable construction qualified workers, ETIK BUILD had no solution, but to train their own workers to the new technologies that ETIK BUILD had created .

The employees response was above expectations translated in a full commitment and loyalty to ETIK BUILD , due to the fact that we totally rely on our workers and do not use undertakers in our concept of efficient SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION.

In fact we discovered later on that this approach of enterprise management was already in practice in Japan and was called KAIZEN
- KAIZEN is a concept referring to business activities that continuously improve all functions and involve all employees from the CEO to the workers.
- Kaizen also applies to processes, such as purchasing and logistics, that cross organizational boundaries into the supply chain.
- Kaizen aims to eliminate waste and redundancies.
- Kaizen may also be referred to as zero investment improvement (ZII) due to its utilization of existing resources
Point kaizen is one of the most commonly implemented types of kaizen, it happens very quickly and usually without much planning. As soon as something is found broken or incorrect, quick and immediate measures are taken to correct the issues. While these measures are generally small, isolated and easy to implement, they can have a huge impact.
Cube kaizen consists in training our employees that all the points of construction are connected to each other and no point is disjointed from any other.
This awareness has spread across the entire organization of ETIK BUILD, Improvements are made up and down through the whole process of construction , or upstream or downstream, including the complete organization, suppliers and customers.
